Forest and Nature Conservation Master programme at Wageningen University
You read about it every day. Deforestation, ecosystem conservation…. Forest and nature areas are complex land use systems that have come under increasing ecological, social and economic pressure. In obtaining your Master of Science degree during this two-year programme at Wageningen University, you will learn about forest management, deforestation, forestry, ecosystem conservation, wildlife management, social aspects of nature and more. The study programme Forest and Nature Conservation aims at the understanding, management and policy related issues of forest and nature areas within all climatic zones, including the tropics. On a local level, the exploitation of biological resources, changes in hydrological and other environmental conditions as well as different stakeholder interests are important. And on a global level focus areas are, how to deal with climate change, sustainable management, deforestation, resource degradation, the demand for biodiversity and ecotourism. Are you interested?
Forest and Nature Conservation study outline
The Master Forest and Nature Conservation consists of various courses, an internship and a research thesis. Furthermore, three specialisations (Policy and Society, Management, Ecology) offer you a consistent, coherent and feasible package of courses. They reflect the specialised research areas of the departments (Chair Groups) contributing to the tailor-made programme.
